At Shiney Row Primary School we operate a first day absence reporting system.  We would appreciate your help with this - if your child is going to be absent from school, please telephone the school office before 9.30am to let us know the reason why.

Attendance is monitored in school and also by the Local Authority.  Satisfactory attendance is classed as 95% over the school year.  If your child's attendance is a cause for concern or falls below this figure, you will be contacted by an Attendance Development Officer.

Every month each class in school compete for our school's attendance award which is presented to the class with the least absences, authorised or unauthorised as a percentage of their particular class. Where two or more classes are tied for absence percentage, places are decided by which of the tied classes had the least unauthorised absences for that month.
