Reception To Year 6
Shiney Row Primary School follows the admissions procedures set by the Local Authority.
Children who currently attend our Nursery will automatically receive an application pack at the relevant time (usually in the September prior to the child being eligible to transfer to Reception).

Nursery
You can apply for a Nursery place as soon as your child becomes 3 and we are pleased to announce that we can offer now Nursery places to children when they reach their 3rd birthday.
All Nursery admissions are dealt with directly by this school.
Once a child reaches the age of 2, their parents can complete a registration form at the school office. Sight of the birth certificate and proof of the parental address is required at that time.
A place will be offered for the September after they turn 3 years old. If a child turns 3 after September then a place will be offered from the following term providing a space is available,
During the summer term, letters will be issued to those children who are eligible to begin Nursery from the following September.
Throughout the year, if there are spaces available, children can continue to be admitted providing they have turned 3.

In-Year Transfers
If a child is transferring from another school, the Admissions Team in Sunderland will deal with the initial request before contacting us to see if there is a place available. Once a place has been confirmed, an offer letter will be sent out by the local authority and a start date will be arranged.
If a child is transferring to another school, a transfer request form will need to be completed, authorised by the Headteacher and sent to the Admissions Team. Once a place has been confirmed, an offer letter will be sent out by the local authority and a start date will be arranged.
