Shiney Row Primary School

Classes 2 and 3 enjoyed a great visit to Beamish where they were able to step back in time over a 100 years to 1914 and explore conscription for World War I. They uncovered reasons why men would sign up and the effects that this had on families back home. They learned about home life during that time, including what it was like to go to school and work down the pit. The children then used this experience to support learning back at school where they produced some excellent writing. Take a look at what we’ve been up to.
